Natural Stone Options
Interested in natural stone? Explore our selection and discover the benefits of each stone type.
Tiles and Slab
Granite: One of the hardest natural stones is available in a large selection of colours and different finishes. Used in residential and commercial applications, interior and exterior. It can be used for floors, walls, countertops, tabletops, fireplaces, and many other locations.
Marble: A soft stone available in many colours and different finishes. Used in residential and commercial applications, interior and exterior. It is susceptible to staining, so finish and location are important.
Onyx: A soft stone with a unique look. It can be used like no other stone. Onyx can be backlit to show off its translucent beauty and become a piece of art.
Travertine and Limestone: A soft stone that comes in an array of soft colours. It is commonly used as carved listellos, chair rails and decorative carved mantles because of its softness. You can get this stone honed, filled and honed or just natural.
Slate and Quartzite: A highly variegated stone used in many different applications. Quartzite being denser than slate, it can be used in exterior applications as well as interior. Softer slates tend to only be used in interior applications.
Ledgestone: This stacked stone can be used in all interior applications as well as some exterior applications. Very simple to install with pre-made corners for the 3D effect.
Man-Made Material Options
Ceramic and porcelain tiles are the most common of all tiles made. They come in many different sizes as well as an infinite amount of styles and colours.
Ceramic: Glazed bisque tile is used in interior applications only. Floor and wall tiles are available. Popular for residential tiling and light commercial use.
Porcelain: There are two options with porcelain: glazed porcelain bisque and full-bodied porcelain. These tiles can be used on floors, walls as well as countertops. Glazed porcelain can be used in residential and light commercial projects for many tile choices. Full-bodied porcelain can be used in residential, commercial, water areas and even exterior applications where the texture of the finish is safe for the climate conditions.
Quarry Tile: A durable tough tile traditionally used in commercial kitchens. Because of its porous nature it has pros and cons. It stains easily but sealing the tile can help prevent some staining. On the other hand, it can be used as a baking stone for breads because of its porous nature.
Glass Tile: Typically used only for decorative wall applications because it can be scratched; it is definitely moisture resistant. This allows the location of the application to be quite open to personal taste and budget. Residential or commercial.
Metal Tile: Metal tiles are moisture resistant but can scratch easily. Application location is important for this type of unique tile. Residential or commercial.
Specialty Tiles: Listellos, pencil liners, chair rails, sink caps, inserts and decorative mosaics come in many different sizes and prices for many budgets. Different ways of using them can make the common look amazing.
